On  February 2, the Lady Bobcat Powerlifters competed at South Middle School and were able to successfully bring the district title to EHS.

“I think it’s something that we really just expected as a team. Our first year we had one qualifier, our second year we had five qualifiers and, this year we are already up to seven and that’s been the goal, that we keep progressing.”Assistant Coach, Deeanna Dominguez said.

Every girl that competed,  gave their all to win district and help achieve this accomplishment for the school which brought joy and excitement to both the athletes and coaches.

“Actually, it felt really nice because it was our first time ever winning district.” Junior, Ana Herrera ,said.

The Lady Bobcats will  put to their minds to achieve their best at regionals and continue on to state.

“When I qualified to regionals last January, all that was on my mind was that I have to work harder now in order to make it to state. I was really excited as well as my coaches and family, and thanks to them I’ve been doing really good this season.” Sophomore, Jimena Diaz ,said.
