The Varsity basketball girls played against Robert Vela on January 19th. It was a competitive game where every ounce of hard work was left on the court. With a score of 84-22, Bobcats takes the win.

“ I just felt that we needed to win this game against Vela since we had lost to them the year before. It was beyond exciting to get the win because it is one step closer to the District Title,” senior, Daniella Rivas said.

The Varsity girls have given it their all in every game they play. Winning by large margins shows the infinite amount of dedication that they pour into the sport, in an effort to reach their goals.

“ It was exciting winning the game by a 62 point gap. The atmosphere that comes with playing a city rival creates an even more exhilarating environment with all the cheering of the fans,” senior, Jayla Santa Maria said.

The Varsity girls have practiced countless hours in order to reach the destination they have set for themselves and it is paying off.  

“ The energy was positive, we all felt confident even though it was a big city rival. It felt good putting out a lot of points and seeing all the happy reactions of my family and the fans when we won the game. It’s something I will remember,” senior, Mercedes Hernandez said.

This season has been one filled with mainly wins from the Lady Bobcats. No hard work or dedication goes unnoticed and the Varsity girls will continue to give it their best shot in everything they do to come out number one.
