On September 29, Rio Grande Valley College awarded junior, Hearlin Benavides, with a plaque and a tuition scholarship for having the play of the week. They also donated 100$ to the athletic department.

“I feel blessed because I worked hard. It’s been a total team effort,” Benavides said.

The team and coaches have pushed him to be where he is at right now.

“I think he is having a great season and I’m very proud of him, because I want the best from him and the best for him,” RB Coach, Abel Saenz said.

All the teams have ups and downs, but sticking together makes the team  feel as a unit.

“This seasons been like a roller coaster, we have to stay as a team, as a family in the hardest moments,” Benavides said.
