School Organizations Donate to Hurricane Victims

At the beginning of the school year, Hurricane Harvey, hit the coastal areas of Texas, which resulted in loss of property, and flooding damages. In order to help with affected areas, organizations on campus got together in order to collect donations for those affected.
“My first thought was that we were blessed that the hurricane did not hit here, and that we needed to help out,” Softball Coach, Ramon Arciba said.
Donations were being collected by Softball, FFA, and FCA. Students all over school participated and dropped off their donations. Some donations were basic necessities that these people so desperately needed.
“We (collected) canned foods, cases of water bottles, dog food, and toiletries, just basic things,” senior, Christopher Renteria, said.
It was a time of need for the residents of Houston and those in the surrounding areas.
“We wanted to help out those affected, give to those desperately in need, those affected by the floods,” Junior, Jessica Infante said.
