ECISD holds annual Fields of Faith event last week with guest speaker and former professional baseball player, Jaime Garcia.

Not only did the event feature a guest speaker, but others shared their stories, prayed together and had a time of worship.

To kick off the event, senior, Valerie Guerra shared her personal testimony.

“Being there watching other people listen to my story was really special because I felt like I was helping people by letting them know to have faith in their situations even when it looks bad,”  Guerra said.

After Guerra shared her testimony, students were invited to join the field for a time of worship. The praise and worship band was from a local church, Comunidad Cristiana Emauel in which Valeria Luna’s family are the pastors of.

“Worshiping among others filled my heart with peace and reminded me that God’s presence is always here,” Luna said.

At the conclusion of the worship set, Jaime Garcia spoke about his childhood, career in baseball and his journey with God. 

After his speech, students were able to receive prayer at different crosses on the field.
