Following their straight 1’s at UIL Area, Mariachi Primer Orgullo will be attending the UIL State Competition in Seguin, TX on February 25th.

“Whether it was a solo, duet, or trio, we had to work hard individually and together to make it sound as effortlessly as possible,” senior Arissa Contador said.

As part of their preparation, the students tried a different variety of methods to improve their sound.

“We made an effort this year to practice more on stage and watch other schools perform, so we could take notes,” senior Vivianne Medina said.

Effort was put into each performance by the mariachi members.

“The solos, duos, and trios were exciting, but each had a different color of expression,” junior Oscar Galvan said. “It was challenging to make sure we provided that color that made the songs special.”
