On Friday, February 1st, the Varsity Girls Soccer players took home a win when playing  against Weslaco East.

“We were playing really good soccer, but it was frustrating because the soccer balls were just not going in the goal,” Varsity Coach Mona Guerra said.  

The frustration faded as the game went on, and the girls were able to score.

“We were working very well, talking a lot together, and definitely passing the ball around to each other,” Forward Leah Sanchez said.

Because the girls communicated well, they were able to start their season strong.

“I think we are a great team and we have so much potential,” Right defender Victoria Hinojosa said.
