On February 2, the Winter Guard team competed at the San Antonio Winter Guard International competition (WGI) in New Braunfels.

The group placed in the top 3 at prelims and placed in the top five at finals.

“We got 5th out of 12 schools,” sophomore Ivan Costilla said.

This was the team’s first time competing in the WGI competition.

“I wanted them to be exposed to that next level of competition,” Winter Guard sponsor Denisha Requenez said. “We did really well.”
