Student Council donated about 2,800 cans to the Rio Grande Valley food bank before the Thanksgiving break.

Student Council invited school organizations to give back for Thanksgiving by participating in a food drive. The can food drive was from Monday, October 29th to Tuesday, November 13, 2018. The cans were picked up on November 14.

Student Council members like Vice President, Mia Noyola felt great about donating cans to the community.

“ I felt helpful knowing that our school was contributing to our community for the better,”Noyola said.

Ms. Zamora, Student council sponsor agreed.

“I loved to see our student body come together to help those in need in our community,” Zamora said. “It’s important for us to know that we can make a difference in someone’s life.”

Among the organizations that donated cans,ROTC contributed the most to this cause.

“ROTC donated about 300 cans,” Zamora said.
