On January 23 the varsity soccer team tied with the Donna Bravettes. The dedication to the game was astounding. The team worked together better than ever, showing the bravattes their persistence for the game.

The game was a  hard-fought.  In the beginning, the bravettes were ahead, but junior Dabanhi Rodriguez scored a goal from a direct corner kick with assistance from her teammates.

“Once I scored the first goal I felt great knowing we were catching up, it was an amazing feeling” Rodriguez said.

The coaches knew that for this game they had to switch their usual plays in order to do well.

“We prepared for this game by switching up our formation into defense formation, helping the control go to the middle” coach, Mona Guerra said.

Only 42 seconds left on the clock the team worked together to score a goal from the center midfield, tying the game.

“The team helped me get the chance to score the goal that determined if we would lose or tie, ” Rodriguez said.

Ultimately the team and coaches were pleased with how the girls did with the overall game.

“Once the game ended I was delighted with the way the girls played,” Guerra said.
