On April 4th and 5th at the Tierra Del Sol golf course, the golf team came out on top with the Team District title and with senior Beatriz Chavez with the first place distinction.

For Chavez, this meet was particularly bittersweet with it being her last district competition after having competed for 5 years.

“The moment I made my last putt I knew all those hours I spent practicing paid off,” Chavez said. “I couldn’t be happier representing my school and everyone who helped me in my journey.”

Senior Deborah Chavira who came in as third in the district viewed the event as one full of sentiment and closing of a chapter.

“I felt too many emotions at once,” Chavira said. “The excitement, nostalgia, and sadness that it was all over hit me. In the end when we got that first place trophy, it made a great wrap up to senior year.”
