On January 11th, three upperclassmen qualified to be part of the TMEA All-State Band.

“I feel amazing, putting in all the hard work and finally being able to make it this year. It’s definitely my most accomplished moment as a musician,” senior Remi Alcocer said.

However, putting in the extra practice isn’t over as they prepare for the next performance.

“I will practice even harder because yes there is reason to celebrate, but it’s not over yet,” junior Genaro Fortuna said.

For senior Stephanie Hernandez this type of competition has allowed her to be challenged.

“It has challenged me as a person, but with every challenge I am allowed to grow as an individual,” Hernandez said.

The TMEA All-State clinic/convention will take place next month in San Antonio.
