On Saturday October 5th, the Migrant Club hosted the annual adopt a highway event.

Both Edinburg High and Vela High school students got together to participate in this community service event.

“I’ve been participating in this cleaning up event ever since I joined the club as a freshman,” senior Klarisssa De La Cruz said.  “As a senior, this was the last time to participate and I will leave happy making a small difference.”

Students not only earned community hours, but they also earned the satisfaction of leaving their community cleaner.

“For us it meant a lot to see our community cleaner, and I’m glad that this tradition and will continue for many years,” said senior Angelica Arvizu.
