On April 22nd and 23rd the Varsity Girls Golf team competed at the Regional Golf competition at The Republic Golf Course in San Antonio.

The golf team qualified for the regional competition by placing second as a team at their district competition.

“At district we placed second which made us regional qualifiers,” Golf Coach Orlando Garza said.

For Junior Danelly Trevino advancing to regionals was an exciting opportunity.

“It felt like a very exciting opportunity and I have been going since my freshman year,” Trevino said.

For Coach Garza he was excited to see his team advance to the regional competition.

“I was excited for the girls, I mean they work hard and they enjoy going to San Antonio and competing over there,” Coach Garza said.

District Champion, sophomore Maddison Ozuna was also excited.

“ I was excited. I knew there was tough competition at region, so I was just going out to play my own game. I placed 21st out of 96 girls.  I did alright but I could always do better.”
