At the beginning of the month, the Women’s Varsity, Men’s and Cantorei Women’s choirs received triple sweepstakes at their UIL competition held at UTRGV.The competition was judged on musicality, sight reading, and overall performance.

“I’m very happy that we got triple sweepstakes,” sophomore Faith Rodriguez said. “It is definitely something to remember.”

To earn this recognition, the choirs competed in front of a panel of judges.

“The judges paid attention to everything,” senior Gizelle Bazan said. “We had to make sure everything was perfect otherwise they would’ve notice any mistake.”

To be sure that everything was perfect, the choirs had been practicing for this event since school started.

“We put in a lot of effort since the beginning of the year,” junior Michelle Lopez said. “Every practice was definitely worth it.”
