BPA hosts first annual video game tournament
On February 19, Business Professionals of America (BPA) held its first video game tournament fundraiser. They were able to raise an estimated $700.
“The video game tournament was a way for us to fundraise for BPA State,” senior Claritza Castillo said.
The competition consisted of three different tournaments which included Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, and Madden NFL.
“You can’t just have one tournament; you need multiple,” senior Larami Mireles said. “By having different games, you attract a variety of people.”
For Junior Samuel De La Lana participating in the tournament turned out better than he expected.
“At first I didn’t want to do it,” De la Lana said. “Then it turned out that I won two out of the three tournaments.”
